Comtech Global Aviation Services began its journey in 2001 in the United States under the name AeroCompliance. From the outset, the company specialised in FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) and Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) projects, becoming a recognised STC holder for various Boeing aircraft series.

In 2008, the company evolved into Comtech USA and Comtech Australia, expanding its expertise in FAA certification projects and providing consulting services across the Asia-Pacific region.

By 2010, Comtech had established a stronger presence in Singapore, leading to significant growth in sales within the Asia-Pacific market.

In 2013, the company secured an EASA Part 21J Design Organisation Approval (DOA) in Australia. This milestone allowed for increased capability in major and minor modifications and repairs to Airbus aircraft.

Building on this success, Comtech established an EASA Part 21G Production Organisation Approval (POA) in Australia in 2014. This marked the beginning of large-scale manufacturing of soft furnishings for aircraft, supported by EASA Form 1 certification.

In 2015, the company expanded its operations further into China and Europe. During this time, it also developed and implemented a Fuel Tank Ignition Mitigation System Installation.

The following year, in 2016, Comtech saw continued growth in sales across Australia and South America. It also ramped up manufacturing of high volumes of in-flight entertainment (IFE) equipment, again certified with EASA Form 1.

In 2017, Comtech established a new facility in Barcelona, Spain. The site achieved EASA 21G POA approval with Category C1 certification, as well as Level E software capability.

By 2018, the company’s Design Organisation Approval in Spain was expanded to include fuel systems, and a new EASA Part 21J certificate was awarded.

In 2019, Comtech initiated its POA application process in Barcelona and carried out DO-160 environmental testing for WiFi system installations in China.

Finally, in 2021, the EASA POA application for Spain was officially approved, further solidifying Comtech’s manufacturing and certification presence in Europe.
